Michelle McDermott, RMT

Michelle is the proud owner of Solace Natural Health.

Michelle graduated in the Recreation and Leisure Program in 1997 with a focus on Therapeutic Recreation for special populations. Working in that field led her to the pursuit of natural healing. She then graduated in 2000 from Centennial College Massage Therapy Program. Michelle is certified in Hot Stone Massage, Laser Therapy, IFC and Ultrasound, Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue, Holistic Spa Therapy and has studied pre and post natal massage. Michelle has taught in  the Massage Therapy Program at Centennial College for 7 years. Michelle operates Office Kneads On Site Massage therapy where she goes into offices and provides seated massage to employees. Check your health care plan for coverage.She has worked in a variety of settings including Chiropractic, Spas, Physiotherapy, sporting events, trade shows and clinics. Michelle teaches infant massage to mothers, fathers and care givers as well as a Couple's massage course for the town of Markham.

Lisa Altman, RMT

Lisa graduated from Sutherland-Chan Massage Therapy School in 1998 and became a certified Reflexologist through the OCR (Ontario College of Reflexologists). To provide the utmost care for her clients, Lisa continued her education and took the Cranio-Sacral Level One Course with the Upledger Institute in 2004. Lisa also completed training in the Aromatherapy Natural Beauty Sp acourse which includes Organic Facials, Hot Oil Head Massage, Detoxifying Seaweed Wraps and Body Scrubs. Lisa looks forward to taking more courses in the future to offer more services to her clients in a therapeutic and healing way.

Denise Rancourt, RMT

Denise Rancourt has been practicing massage therapy since graduating from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in 2005.  Her goal is to help individuals work towards body awareness while incorporating therapeutic and relaxation massage and other modalities to assist clients on their paths  toward overall health and wellness. She is committed to remaining current in her practice through continuing education and adopting new therapeutic practices.   Denise is certified in Aromatherapy and has studied Pre- and Post-Natal Massage as well as Deep Tissue Sports Massage.  She is also trained in Holistic Body Care.

Marion Drexler, RMT

With more than 20 years of clinical experience in massage therapy, Marion Will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is customized to your needs. Her treatments are designed to reduce your symptoms and to provide you with relief. She offers the following:  Deep tissue massage, Pregnancy massage, Sports massage, Cupping massage, Hot stone massage, Aromatherapy. Cupping therapy is an ancient medical practice that promotes healing and mobilizes blood flow. Cupping therapy often leads to reduced pain and less inflammation throughout the body. It also helps to enhance physical relaxation and mental well-being.

Alexandra Chin-Ting, RMT

Graduated from Sutherland-Chan Massage Therapy School & Teaching Clinic in 2014 and holds a Bachelors of Kinesiology from Brock University and is excited to apply various theories and techniques with her patients. She obtained her hands on experience from a variety of specialty clinics offered through her massage therapy education. Alexandra is trained in numerous  massage techniques including Swedish massage, myofascial release and trigger point therapy. Alexandra is looking forward to expanding her knowledge through courses to help further her career. Alexandra believes in promoting health and wellness through preventative methods as well as educating her patients. During treatments, her goal is to recognize the symptoms while searching for the root of the problem, allowing her to treat efficiently and effectively.  Alexandra believes that a  lifestyle is important.  She enjoys travelling, playing soccer, swimming, hiking and other outdoor activities. She remains active outside of work and part takes in various collaborative entrepreneurial events to grow her profession and as a person.

Georgia Low, RMT

Georgia has been practising as an RMT since graduating from Sutherland-Chan in 1994. She began with a natural interest in health and well-being which then led to a degree in Kinesiology. Georgia's practice includes the treatment of athletes, pregnant clients (first-hand experience here - twice), injuries and accidents, stress and any conditions that may gain from trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, lymphatic drainage, DORN Method, laser therapy and the not to be under-valued benefits of relaxing within the massage experience. Georgia continues to expand her knowledge of wellness most recently pursuing her love for nutrition and yoga beyond personal practise into a more formal setting.  She recently became a health representative for the Juice Plus Company after enjoying their products and is beginning her Yoga Teacher Training which will further help her to provide her clients with more self-care stretches and awareness.

Louise tong, r.TCMP, R.AC, TCM Practitioner & Acupuncture

Louise Tong is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist of “College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario” CTCMPAO as well as a member of “The Canadian Society of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture”.  Born and raised in Hong Kong grew up in a traditional Chinese cultural way of health and wellness.  From a young age, she had always been drawn to more holistic ways of healings and felt that these remedies needed a place in the modern day world.  With the desire to heal and a passion for natural medicine, Louise decided to pursue her career.  She went to Guangdong, China and follows her uncle who is the supervisor of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Department in the hospital.  After immigrated to Toronto, she attended a 4-year full time program and earned her Diploma of Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Diploma of Acupuncturist from Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  In addition to her formal TCM training, she has received continuing education trainings in specialized courses such as TCM Facial Rejuvenation and Body Sculpture, Tung’s Acupuncture,  The Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada Continuing Education Seminar, Dr. Richard Tan’s Acupuncture.  She has been practicing in Toronto for more than 7 years. Louise also uses other TCM modalities such as herbal therapy, cupping, moxibustion, nutritional advising, and acupressure. She treats each patient with a holistic approach and individual approach with an ultimate goal of achieving balance.

Colleen Whittaker, RMT

Colleen has been practicing massage therapy in the Markham area for over 18 years. During this time, Colleen has taken many courses in order to offer you the best care possible and a variety of treatments to suit your needs. These include Registered Massage Therapy, pre/postnatal massage, infant massage, CranioSacral therapy, Hot Stone Massage, Reiki, cupping, wild organic seaweed facials and body treatments.

Antonette Matthews, Receptionist Extraordinaire

Antonete is a Ryerson graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree in Business Sciences. She worked at IBM Canada for 16 years as an Executive Assistant and the next 15 years at home managing the household and 4 children. She joined our Solace team in the Spring of 2007 and is the one who will answer your calls or greet you in the morning, Monday-Friday.
